MS Dhoni Leads ICC’s ODI And T20 Teams Of The Decade

On Sunday, the ICC announced the T20I Team of the Decade while announcing its much-awaited awards show. India’s World Cup-winning skipper, MS Dhoni has been named the captain and wicketkeeper of the XI while Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Jasprit Bumrah are the other Indian cricketers who have been featuring in the renowned list.

The ICC-named team showcases a lot of big six hitters including Chris Gayle, AB de Villiers, Glenn Maxwell, Kieron Pollard. Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan, who made his debut in 2015 has also been included as he scalped 89 wickets in 48 matches, has found a place in the list as he can arguably qualify as the best contemporary T20I bowler.

Even India’s premier pacer, Jasprit Bumrah made his debut in 2016 but in 4 years of his international career, he has made a name for himself which helped him get inclusion in the ICC Men’s T20I team of the decade due to pure quality and 59 wickets in 50 matches.

The T20I format became a sensation in the latter years of the last decade with India lifting the first-ever World T20 in 2007, under the leadership of former Indian skipper, MS Dhoni. India has managed to build a strong T20I team and 4 Indian cricketers appearing on the 11-man list shows how big the team is in the format.

ICC also announced the ODI team which has also been lead by MS Dhoni has been named as captain for the ICC ODI Team of the Decade. In the XI Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are the other two Indian cricketers on the list. Apart from them, as compared to the T20I XI, AB de Villiers and Lasith Malinga have managed to make the cut.
