Apart from the heated argument with the umpires during one of their game for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on the field in the ongoing season of Indian Premier League (IPL), former India captain MS Dhoni hardly finds himself involved in any controversies. However, he recently moved to the Supreme Court, against the Real Estate company, Amrapali group after being cheated. He was the brand ambassador of the company from 2009-2016 and his wife Sakshi held stakes there.

Dhoni had booked a penthouse in an Amrapali project in Amrapali Safari which was about to built-in Ranchi. He also wanted his name to be added there. Dhoni also said that he has already paid Rs 20 lakh for the penthouse but only some work has been done and he has not been given the possession. He also requested the apex Indian court to ensure the Amrapali Group pays him Rs 40 crore as the amount Dhoni was about to get from them.

In between all this, the Real Estate Company had been facing financial issues and more than 45,000 people who earlier had paid money for their respective properties, went to the Supreme Court for getting possession. However, on January 25, the court had asked NBCC (India) Ltd which was previously known as National Buildings Construction Corporation Ltd, to take up the project of Amrapali Group and finish a couple of housing projects that were undone by then. That somehow would give some relief to the people who had given their money to the Amrapali Group.

However, the apex court took a drastic decision on February 28 and allowed Delhi Police to arrest and interrogate Anil Sharma, CMD of the Amrapali Group along with two directors Shiv Deewani and Ajay Kumar in police custody. Even the court had also appointed a person to discover the exact value of those 5,229 unsold flats, which included booked flats by Amrapali for just Rs 1, Rs 11 and Rs 12 and asked the person to submit its report as well. Supreme Court is still hearing the case.
