MS Dhoni had fun with Deepak Chahar

On the eve of the big match, Dhoni added a touch of humour to the tension during CSK’s net session. A light-hearted moment between him and his former teammate Deepak Chahar caught everyone’s attention. Now representing the Mumbai Indians after being picked up for ₹9.25 crore in the mega auction, Chahar cheekily tried to tease Dhoni during training.

In response, Dhoni playfully chased him with a bat, much to the amusement of everyone present. CSK shared the fun moment on X, and the clip went viral instantly, evoking laughter and nostalgia among fans.

This isn’t the first time Dhoni has shared such a moment with Chahar. After CSK’s previous match against MI in Chennai on March 23, the legendary skipper playfully tapped Chahar with his bat then too.

Dhoni has an illustrious record against MI, having played 43 matches against them for CSK and the now-defunct Rising Pune Supergiants, scoring 768 runs with three half-centuries. He was the Player of the Match in CSK’s recent win over Lucknow Super Giants, showcasing vintage Dhoni with the bat and behind the stumps.

Who can forget his blitzkrieg at Wankhede last season, where he smashed Hardik Pandya for three consecutive sixes in the final over, steering CSK past 200 and sealing a 20-run victory?

As for Chahar, the swing specialist has featured in 88 IPL games, picking up 82 wickets. This season, he’s scalped five wickets in seven games and will be keen to make an impact against his former captain.
