MS Dhoni To Produce A TV Series On Indian Army?

Former Indian skipper, Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been reported to soon be producing an anthology telling stories of decorated army officers. In collaboration with Studionex, Dhoni, who holds an honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Parachute Regiment of the Territorial Army, will bring forward the unique anthology of episodic stories.

One of the sources of NDTV said, “The show will narrate stories of the brave Param Vir Chakra and Ashoka Chakra awardees. With compelling stories and intriguing content on board, the show is slated for a 2020 release.”

The source added that the show will be produced under Dhoni Entertainment Pvt Ltd in collaboration with StudioNext, the content creation wing of SET India. The series is currently in the scripting stage and can be expected to launch only next year. While it hasn’t been confirmed yet but the yet-untitled show will mostly air on Sony TV.

According to a report, the TV series will tell personal stories of military officers as Dhoni wants to bring the journey of people serving the country into the limelight through his show. At present, the show is being scripted, and the team is sorting out the formalities to get the shooting started.

Dhoni is currently on a sabbatical from cricket and it started after India’s semi-final loss to New Zealand in the World Cup in July. Earlier this month, Dhoni had said that he won’t talk about his much-awaited comeback till January.

During a recent event in Ranchi, when asked about his comeback to cricket, Dhoni replied, “January tak mat poocho (don’t ask me till January).”

Earlier this year, MS also produced Hotstar Special’s Roar of the Lion, featuring Captain Cool himself. The docu-drama told the story of the comeback of the Chennai Super Kings to lift the 2018 IPL trophy. A biopic ‘M.S Dhoni: The Untold Story’ was made in 2016 on Dhoni’s life. Directed by Neeraj Pandey, it featured Sushant Singh Rajput portraying the former Indian skipper.
