Raina represented CSK for 12 editions of the IPL after joining them in the inaugural 2008 season for INR 2.60 crore. Raina, who is often been termed as Mr. IPL, scored 4042 runs in 205 IPL matches, at an average of 32.52, while striking at 136.76. The left-handed batter hit 39 fifties and a solitary century in his IPL career, and was an integral part of all the four titles won by CSK.

CSK registered a historic victory by 6 wickets at the Chepauk Stadium against MI in the heavyweight clash. Batting first, MI managed to post just 139 for 8 on the scoreboard after an incredible CSK bowling performance. Middle-order batter Nehal Wadhera was the only shining light in their batting order, scoring his maiden IPL half-century to help the visitors post a respectable total on the scoreboard.
