Former Indian skipper MS Dhoni is arguably one of the most trusted cricketers in the Indian team. Even since last decade, he has been fulfilling the responsibility of digging India out from a losing situation.
However, in ODIs, Dhoni’s innings against Australia in Mohali in 2013 ODI series ranks high amongst his best ODI tons. Indian team was down to 76/4 and then 148/5 in 30 overs. But in midst of all that MS Dhoni came into the middle and decided to take on the Australian bowling.
MS got the support from R Ashwin and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who gave the strike regularly the stalwart and Mahi kept smacking Australian bowlers to all parts of the PCA stadium.
Dhoni amassed 139* off 121 balls with 12 fours and 5 sixes, as India put up a competitive score 303/9 on the board.
Australia still managed to chase down the target after some difficulty, thanks to Brad Haddin (24* off 16) and James Faulkner (64* off 29 balls) innings.
