Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper, MS Dhoni is expected to join their training camp ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 after testing negative for coronavirus. IPL 2020 is all set to be played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from September 19. Dhoni is scheduled to leave for Chennai after submitting his swab to a private hospital, the test has come out to be negative.
Dhoni had gone through the test to fulfill the SOP set by IPL Governing Council. He has been spending time at his farmhouse in Ranchi even before the lockdown in India had commenced in March.

Accoridng to the protocols issued by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), 2 negative tests are mandatory for every cricketer before the franchises reach UAE. Anybody who tests positive will have to go through a quarantine period of two weeks and will have to undergo two tests post that. Only if both the tests are negative, the individuals will be allowed to leave for the UAE.
IPL 2020 will mark as Dhoni’s comeback to competitive cricket after playing his last match during India’s loss to New Zealand in the semi-final of the 2019 World Cup. His future in international cricket has since been the biggest talking point in world cricket.
Chennai Super Kings’ training camp will see the likes of Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Harbhajan Singh, Ambati Rayudu among others. Ravindra Jadeja will be missing the six-day conditioning camp due to personal reasons.
The reports suggested that only the bowling coach L Balaji will be present at the camp. The other members of the coaching staff, Viswanathan said, are likely to join the squad in Dubai by August 22. CSK is expecting two South Africans Faf du Plessis and Lungi Ngidi to join the squad after September 1.

Informing the same, CSK CEO, Kasi Viswanathan said, “When we spoke to Faf and Ngidi they said yes, we are coming. They have said that they will only be coming after September 1.”
The third South African player, Imran Tahir is expected to join the squad after the completion of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) in Trinidad. Viswanathan also said the South African backroom pair of Eric Simons (bowling consultant) and Greg King (physical trainer) are expected to join the players in Dubai on August 21.
