After Chennai Super Kings’ terrific win over Mumbai Indians (MI) in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, skipper MS Dhoni was spotted giving a batting masterclass to his teammate citing an example of the batting technique of Virat Kohli. Notably, not a lot has been revealed as a small portion of the conversation was heard as the video went viral on social media.
In the video shared on the Instagram story of Rajvardhan Hangargekar, MS Dhoni was spotted talking about Virat Kohli’s technique when he plays the first delivery in a match. The skipper was sharing this message in the CSK locker room and it instantly went viral on all of social media.

“Virat doesn’t play the first ball like this. It is always here,” the 41-year-old was heard saying.

Meanwhile, in the match against MI, CSK picked up a dominating win at MA Chidambaram Stadium. Batting first, the visiting team lost three quick wickets as skipper Rohit Sharma failed to do much again, becoming the player with the greatest number of ducks in the history of the IPL. However, after the initial struggle, Nehal Wadhera and Suryakumar Yadav held their nerves to bail Mumbai out of a difficult situation.

Wadhera registered his first fifty in the competition, amassing 64 off 51 deliveries and courtesy of which, MI posted 139 runs on the board after 20 overs. Chennai thus was in full control of the game and their openers – Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway gave a perfect start in the second innings. Conway managed to score 44 runs off 42 deliveries while Ruturaj scored 30 runs off just 16 deliveries.
Later on, Shivam Dube’s played a quickfire knock of 26* runs off 18 deliveries helping CSK chase the total down in just 17.4 overs. Thus, under the captaincy of MS Dhoni, CSK has also improved their net run rate which can play a massive role towards the fag end of the tournament. Currently, they are at number two in the IPL Points Table while the five-time champions are at number six.
