Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni shares the best of the bonds both on and off the field. Virat always appreciates the former Indian Captain’s efforts and also never fails to get advice on the field during crucial times. On the other hand, Dhoni too looks upon the 28-year-old as his best predecessor of leading India.

We have got several instances of brotherhood between the two but a recent one was observed in 5th ODI. Dhoni is known to be a man of sacrifices. In the previous fourth ODI, he gave Manish Pandey chance to score his second ODI fifty and missed his 100th ODI fifty just by a run.

Virat Kohli broke a lot of records on fifth ODI. He reached to his second ODI ton and consecutive one in the series to go past Ricky Ponting and be the second batsman on the highest ODI ton in the list. He also got 10,000 runs in List A  cricket and ranked 1st in the ICC ODI rankings. The captain and Kedar Jadhav looked well as they stitched together a 108-run stand for the fourth wicket. But Jadhav got out and that brought the best finisher on the crease. India was just two runs away for the 5-0 series win.

Dhoni took a single on the very first ball. On reaching the non-striker’s end, the former India captain smiled at Kohli who acknowledged the gesture with the exact same expression. Though no words were exchanged it was well understood what Dhoni wanted. He definitely wanted Virat to score the winning runs of the game after scintillating innings.

Dhoni passed a career milestone when he stumped Akila Dananjaya off the bowling of leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal. His 100th stumping and thus created history in the match. India will next over in the lone T20I on Wednesday before India takes on Australia.
