The charismatic former Indian captain graciously fulfilled the unusual request, capturing the heart of fans worldwide. The video capturing this unique moment quickly went viral, showcasing the enduring affection for the cricket icon.

In a surprising revelation, Dhoni’s former teammate Yuvraj Singh opened up about their relationship in a recent podcast with YouTuber Ranveer Allahabadia. Contrary to popular belief, Singh admitted that he and Dhoni did not share a close friendship outside the cricketing realm.

Yuvraj Singh candidly shared, “Should I be politically correct or honest? Let me be politically correct because if you ask Mahi, he will be politically correct. Me and Mahi are not close friends. We were friends because of cricket; we played together.”

Singh elaborated on the dynamics of their relationship, citing differences in lifestyle as a factor. Despite not being personally close, the duo exhibited exceptional camaraderie on the field, contributing wholeheartedly to the Indian cricket team.

The crux of their discord, as revealed by Yuvraj Singh, stemmed from the hierarchical shift in the team. When Dhoni was elevated to the captaincy in 2007, bypassing Yuvraj Singh, it led to differences in decision-making.

Yuvraj Singh acknowledged the inevitability of such conflicts, stating, “When you are captain and vice-captain, there will be decision differences. I didn’t like, and sometimes I made decisions he didn’t like. Aur wo har team mein hota hai, koi bhi team le lo aap (It happens in every team. Look at any team).”
