Prasad emphasizes Kohli’s T20 World Cup dominance, highlighting his record-breaking 1141 runs in 25 matches with an impressive average of 81.5.
“Virat Kohli is crucial for India in the T20 World Cup,” MSK Prasad emphasized on an IPL broadcast, highlighting Kohli’s exceptional record: “The selectors can’t think that IPL is a place for him to prove his quality.” He clarified, “He was never out of the team for his form. He missed India matches because of family reasons. He has been in form for a long time. He will make runs in this IPL as well.”

Virat Kohli’s credentials are undeniable. He’s the leading run-scorer in T20 World Cup history, amassing 1141 runs with a staggering average of 81.5. He’s also been a consistent performer in the event, winning Player of the Tournament in both 2014 and 2016 editions.
Even in the last T20 World Cup, he finished as the leading run-scorer for India with 296 runs. Additionally, his strong showing in IPL 2023, where he scored 639 runs, further strengthens his case. MSK Prasad also commended MS Dhoni’s enduring commitment to the Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
“At 42, Dhoni is still playing for CSK which shows his commitment to the team,” MSK Prasad said, praising Dhoni’s leadership. “Playing for a single franchise for so many years, he has made a huge impact on the team and on fans. He played the entire league with an injury to his leg and won the title.”
