MSK Prasad, the Chairman of selection committee has bashed at former India wicketkeeper-batsman Farokh Engineer for obtaining “sadistic pleasure out of indulging in petty talk” after the former player commented that the selectors were serving tea to India captain Virat Kohli’s wife Anushka during a game of ICC World Cup earlier this year. While speaking to a newspaper, the 82-year-old Farokh Engineer, who had played 46 Tests for India, commented on many things about the selection committee led by MSK Prasad.
“I feel sad for someone deriving sadistic pleasure out of indulging in petty talk, thereby demeaning & disrespecting the selectors and wife of Indian captain through false and frivolous allegations,” an angry Prasad said to PTI on Thursday.
Engineer, however, has claimed that he saw one of these five selectors serve tea to Anushka Sharma during the World Cup in England earlier this year.

“Let’s not forget that this selection committee has been appointed by BCCI through a proper process in an AGM,” Prasad further added.
MSK Prasad, however, says that it’s high time that the former player behaved according to his age as it doesn’t look good to pass such nasty comments about anyone – be it Indian captain, his wife or any normal person.
“Someone at the age of 82 should reflect maturity and enjoy the progress of Indian cricket from his time to the current day,” MSK Prasad concluded.
