The Bihar-born cricketer received a well-deserved break from his cricket commitments to attend his wedding celebrations. He will miss India’s third T20I against Australia at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati but will rejoin the team for the fourth T20I in Raipur.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) officially confirmed Mukesh Kumar’s absence from the third T20I, stating that he would be unavailable due to his wedding commitments. Deepak Chahar has been named as Mukesh’s replacement in the squad for the remaining matches of the series.

Mukesh Kumar made his international debut for India in July 2023 during a Test match against West Indies. He followed that up with his first ODI appearance against the same opponents a few days later. The 30-year-old right-arm medium pacer has since represented India in one Test, three ODIs, and seven T20Is.
