On Tuesday, Karan Tiwari, a local-level cricket player who used to bowl in Mumbai Ranji Trophy nets, allegedly committed suicide, as informed by one of the officials of the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA). The reports of the TOI suggest that Tiwari allegedly hanged himself at his house in Gokulnagar at Goregaon East on Monday night.
Tiwari has been going through depression due to the recent failures of his career. He was survived by his mother and a brother. In the past, the Mumbai cricketer had bowled in the nets of the Mumbai Ranji team. There was no suicide note found, and as a result, an accidental death case was filed by the police.
Informing the same, the MCA official said, “An accidental death report was registered at Kurar Police Station and the probe was on.”

According to the Police and media reports, Tiwari had informed his friend in Rajasthan that he is upset about not being selected for the senior squad and has plans to commit suicide. The friend informed Tiwari’s sister about his thoughts. By the time, her sister informed their mother about his state of mind, The cricketer had already hanged himself.

Going by the reports, Tiwari clocked himself into his room around 10.30 PM. By the time the door was broken, he was found dead. Known as ‘Junior Dale Steyn’ – Karan was known for his speed and similar bowling action to the South African pace legend. Mumbai senior team coach – Vinayak Samant said he had been trying to find a good local club for the now-deceased paceman.
