After a dismal start to their IPL 2023 campaign with a couple of dominating losses, Mumbai Indians (MI) have got back to winning ways in style as they registered their third consecutive win, beating Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 18 in Hyderabad. After being put in to bat first, MI posted a massive 192/5 on the back of Cameron Green’s (64* off 40) and Tilak Varma’s (37 off 17) brilliant knocks.

In reply, SRH only managed to score 178 in 19.5 overs with Jason Behrendorff, Riley Meredith, and Piyush Chawla picking two wickets each. Arjun Tendulkar also bowled an economical spell of 1/18 in 2.5 overs and executed his yorkers perfectly while bowling at the death. After Arjun’s brilliant show with the ball, Mumbai Indians released a video where he could be seen practicing to bowl yorkers at the death.

After getting just a couple of overs to bowl on his IPL debut against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Arjun Tendulkar was entrusted with the task of defending 20 runs against the Sunsrisers in the final over with Abdul Samad and Bhuvneshwar Kumar at the crease.

Arjun Tendulkar showed great composure bowling for the first time at the death in just his second IPL game and gave away just five runs as he executed yorkers with immaculate accuracy. The 23-year-old even picked up his first IPL wicket, dismissing Bhuvneshwar Kumar on the fifth ball of the over.

Mayank Agarwal top-scored for SRH with 48 off 41 balls while Heinrich Klaasen played a crucial knock of 36 off 16. However, apart from them, no other batter crossed even the 25-run mark. With their win, Mumbai Indians have climbed to sixth place in the points table, with three wins in five matches.

Notably, it is the first time since 2020 that Mumbai has won three consecutive games in a season. They will look to continue their winning momentum against Punjab Kings on April 22 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
