The ‘staring contest’ between Suryakumar Yadav and Virat Kohli became the talk of the town during the thrilling clash between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Mumbai Indians (MI). The incident has pretty much overshadowed his stunning batting performance as the fans are discussing his knock consistently on social media.
The incident took place in the 13th over when Kohli had tried to get under the skin of the MI batsman. After saving a shot from the batsman at the extra cover, Kohli started walking towards him while staring at him. On the other hand, Suryakumar was in no mood of backing down either as he too stared at the RCB skipper.

Kohli then came and stood right beside Suryakumar as he was also shining the ball. And just when it looked things would escalate, Suryakumar showed remarkable maturity by walk away silently. In the wake of the incident, Kohli has been facing criticism from the fans for trying to unsettle the batsman. Fans have also lauded Suryakumar for the way he handled the entire situation.
Amidst all the action that has been going on the social media following the incident, Mumbai Indians took a slight dig at Virat Kohli. On Thursday, the franchise took to Twitter to post a picture of the incident on their official Twitter handle and cheekily wrote, “He came. He s̶a̶w̶ stared. He conquered”

Talking about the game, MI defeated RCB by five wickets to strengthen their position at the top of the points table. With 8 wins from 12 games, the defending champions have all but sealed their spot in the playoffs. Suryakumar was the star of the show, scoring a stunning unbeaten half-century to help his side register the win.

Chasing 165, MI was staring down the barrel at one stage when they were reduced to 72 for 3. However, the 30-year old held firm from one end and played an unbeaten knock of 79 to take his side home in the final over. His 43-ball knock contained 10 fours and three sixes.
