Former Team India spinner Murali Kartik said that veteran Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batter Virat Kohli’s movie should be named ‘Drive, Passion, Hunger’ after the star batter’s heroics in the IPL 2026 final against the Gujarat Titans
(GT) in Ahmedabad on May 31. With RCB chasing 156 for a second consecutive IPL title, Kohli scored a 42-ball 75*.

Kartik said on Cricbuzz: “If a movie is made about him, it should be named, ‘Drive, passion, hunger’, because that’s what he embodies. His best quality is that he never takes his laurels back home. He knows he’s the best, but he doesn’t rest on it. To be a better version of yourself after 19 seasons is unbelievable. His life is a penance for cricket.”

“He had been the GOAT of the sport, but it was strange that he couldn’t find that elusive title till last year. That’s why a huge gorilla came off his back last year, and hence the tears. Now it’s an encore with this title, so you are in control of your emotions a lot more this time. Last year, the emotions were unfiltered and raw, but this time it was as if he knew we would do it again,” he added again.

Meanwhile, former Indian pacer Zaheer Khan also hailed Virat Kohli for stepping up time and again on the big occasion throughout his stunning career.

“Once GT made only 154, the one wicket they needed was Virat’s because it was the perfect setting for him. He never disappoints and is always there in big matches. Virat tops the list of players who have been there with only one franchise. He has been through the hardships with RCB. To have back-to-back titles now, it’s for him to say it’s all worth it,” said Zaheer Khan.
