The former BCCI President N Srinivasan has finally reacted to the severe accusations raised against him by former Chief of the selections committee Dilip Vengsarkar. Earlier, Vengsarkar blamed Srinivasan for removing him from the selector’s post due to one of his resolute decision of selecting Virat Kohli over Subramanian Badrinath. However, Srinivasan has revealed the truth behind this whole debate and has quoted all the arguments raised against him as completely baseless.

In his recent comments, Vengsarkar notified about being fascinated with the current Indian skipper Virat Kohli’s performance during the U19 World Cup, after which he picked the flamboyant cricketer for an emerging players tournament in Australia. After Virat’s impressive knock in that competition, the head of the selection committee proposed his name in the selection panel meeting.

As quoted in TOI, Dilip said, “He argued that Badrinath has scored over 800 runs for Tamil Nadu. I told him he will get his chance. But the very next day, he took Srikkanth (who replaced Vengsarkar as the chief selector) to Sharad Powar and that was the end of my selection tenure.”

In support of the recent allegations against him, Srinivasan clarified that this whole issue stating that Vengsarkar’s removal from the chief selector’s position happened only due to conflicting of interest between the BCCI and the selector. In his recent letter surfaced on the social media, the challenges to support no role in the stepping down decision made by Vengsarkar then.

Srinivasan also mentioned that it is highly pity of Vengsarkar, who is only trying to cast baseless allegations on him and this all is an unacceptable unethical behavior. The letter stated that the complete information and the details regarding the reality behind the chief selector’s removal from his job.
