Nagarkoti locked himself in washroom during auction

India’s young fast-bowling sensation Kamlesh Nagarkoti locked himself in the washroom when his name popped up in the auction of the Indian Premier League 2018. The two-time champion Kolkata Knight Riders bought him for INR 3.2 crores.

Nagarkoti was an unknown face until the start of U-19 World Cup in New Zealand, where he, straightaway, caught the attention of cricketing fraternity for his raw pace. He can bowl at 145 kmph regularly and his bowling partner Shivam Mavi compliments him with the same speed.

Nagarkoti’s base price was RS 20 lakhs, but every IPL franchise was aware of this young talent and they raised their hands to buy him. At the end, KKR successfully invested their money in this youngster, where he will get an excellent company under Mitchell Starc and Mitchell Johnson.

Talking to an English website, he revealed that he locked himself in the washroom in order to avoid the tension. That’s the aura of IPL auction, even big players can’t handle the pressure of such tense auction, while he is just a kid.

In the ongoing U-19 World Cup, he led the Indian team to reach the finals of this tournament. Australia U-19 will play against their Asian rivals on February 3. Whoever wins this will become the most successful country in the Youth World Cup.
