In the first innings of the 10th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020, the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) veteran batsmen, AB de Villiers was at his ferocious best when took down of the best white-ball bowler of the current era, Jasprit Bumrah. De Villiers smashed the bowling spearhead of Mumbai Indians (MI) for 28 runs in just eight balls during his maniac 24-ball 55 against Mumbai Indians on Monday.
Earlier, Mi skipper, Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bowl first. After having missed out in the last game, AB de Villiers was timing the ball from the outset, and later on, he smashed Bumrah to all corners of the Dubai International stadium. After Virat Kohli got dismissed for a painstaking 11-ball 3, RCB needed their star batsmen to fire after Aaron Finch and Devdutt Padikkal had got their side off to a brilliant start and ABD didn’t disappoint.

After hitting Krunal Pandya for boundaries in his first few balls, AB decided to target Jasprit Bumrah in the 17th over. Bumrah attacked ABD with short-pitch deliveries but ‘Mr 360 was waiting for it and he smashed the premium pacer with disdainful pulls over square-leg and mid-wicket.
AB de Villiers took smashed Bumrah for 17 runs in the next over and in the process registered his 2nd 50 of the tournament. His takedown of Bumrah and Shivam Dube’s annihilation of James Pattinson in the final over helped the RCN to reach a total of 3-201 in 20 overs, smashing 78 runs in the last 5 overs. For MI, Trent Boult was the wrecker-in-chief as he got a couple of wickets involving Padikkal and Finch.
