The Indian all-rounder, Deepak Hooda, who made his ODI debut in the first ODI took his first wicket in international cricket on the fifth ball of his very first over in the second ODI against West Indies at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Hooda bowled a full-length delivery and a well-set Shamarh Brooks batting on 44 runs tried to loft the ball over the long-on only to find Suryakumar Yadav.

India and West Indies locked horns with each other in the second ODI of the series against each other in Ahmedabad. West Indies have a target of 238 ahead of them and have lost more than half of the batting unit quite early in the first 22 over itself. Batting first, India scored a total of 237/9 courtesy of a knock from Suryakumar Yadav of 64 runs, and KL Rahul played a knock of 48-ball 49.

Alzarri Joseph and Odean Smith picked a couple of wickets each for the Carribean side. Deepak Hooda who is playing as an all-rounder in the team, bagged his maiden ODI wicket. Hooda bowled a full length delivery to well set Shamarh Brooks playing on 44 runs.

Brooks attempted to slog the ball over long-on but Suryakumar Yadav who was fielding at the position caught the ball easily. Eventually, West Indies lost the game by 44 runs as Prasdih Krishna ended the game with a dream spell of 4/12.

Earlier in the game, West Indies stand-in skipper, Nicholas Pooran won the toss and decided to bowl first citing some spice in the pitch early in the innings. Both the team made one change in the playing XIs as Kieron Pollard was replaced by Odean Smith for the visitors whereas KL Rahul replaced Ishan Kishan for Team India.
