During the 2019 World Cup, former Indian cricketer, Sanjay Manjrekar stated that he’s not fond of ‘bits and pieces’ cricketers like Ravindra Jadeja. The comment ignited a lot of uproars and the veteran was a recipient of a lot of backlashes. Back then, even Jadeja had asked him to stop his ‘verbal diarrhea’. Manjrekar has again opened up during India’s ongoing tour of Australia.

During a chat with The Hindu, Manjrekar had said, “My selection and thoughts are based on a principle that I have learned over the years: if you have specialists who can walk-in based on one discipline, you fill your team with those players. I do not have a problem with Jadeja; I have a problem with his kind of cricketers in white-ball cricket. Even Hardik Pandya will not be on my team. They add illusionary value to the team.”

Hardik went on to become the Player of the match after he scored a match-winning 92 in the third and final ODI at the Manuka Oval in Canberra. Even Jadeja had played a flamboyant knock of 66 runs as the duo added 150 runs for the sixth wicket as the Men in Blue over the 300-run mark.

Meanwhile, former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer put out a hilarious message, funnily appreciating Manjrekar for the success of the Indian cricketers. He had tweeted, “While we appreciate those who contributed on the field let’s not forget the contribution of those working off the field too like my good friend. @sanjaymanjrekar #AusvInd.”

In the meantime, the fans had a hilarious take on Jaffer’s message. But one user, asking to add former cricketer Gautam Gambhir, caught a lot of limelight.
