First the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) Nitish Rana – in the first match of the doubleheader – dedicated his well-deserved half-century to his late father-in-law and now Mandeep Singh decided to come out to bat despite the fact that he lost his father on Friday night (October 24).

The Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) batsman, who is plying his trade in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 in UAE, is part of the playing XI against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) as a replacement for injured Mayank Agarwal. His father was said to be facing health-related issues since the time Mandeep traveled to the Arab country. The news of his father’s demise was in the news just a day ago when a news publication had stated that Singh’s father was taken to Chandigarh, where he passed away.

However, Mandeep Singh’s brother had quashed all the rumors. Harvinder had agreed on the fact that his father is battling health-related issues but assured that he was still alive.

He, however, failed to replicate the same in the subsequent matches and was dropped after three matches. He has scored 33 runs so far at an average of 11. The Punjab cricketer is a seasoned campaigner in IPL and has 100 appearances in the league.
