In a moment that left fans stunned and excited in equal measure, 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi etched his name into the history books during the IPL 2025 clash between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. The young prodigy became the youngest batter ever to score a fifty in T20s — reaching the landmark in just 17 balls — and went on to script an even bigger fairytale.

Chasing a daunting target of 210 set by Gujarat Titans, thanks to Shubman Gill’s brilliant 84 and Jos Buttler’s 50, Rajasthan needed someone to step up — and who better than the fearless teenager? Vaibhav unleashed a brutal assault on the GT bowlers, cracking 3 fours and 6 sixes to reach his half-century in no time. However, he didn’t stop there. The southpaw continued to mesmerise the crowd, reaching a sensational century in just 35 balls, becoming the youngest centurion in IPL history.

His record-breaking ton shattered the previous record held by Afghanistan’s Hassan Eisakhil, who had scored a fifty at 15 years and 360 days. In IPL terms, Vaibhav broke the longstanding record of Riyan Parag, who had notched a fifty at 17 years and 175 days in 2019.

Overall, Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s 101-run blitz off just 36 deliveries — decorated with 7 fours and 11 towering sixes — came to an end when Prasidh Krishna bowled a pinpoint yorker in the 12th over. Even in dismissal, Vaibhav walked off to a standing ovation from the Jaipur crowd, his bat raised high after delivering an innings that few will forget.

Thanks to Vaibhav’s fearless innings, Rajasthan Royals raced to 183/2 by the 14th over, with Yashasvi Jaiswal and Riyan Parag carrying forward the momentum.

Vaibhav’s breathtaking knock wasn’t just about records; it was about a young boy, barely into his teens, showing maturity, flair, and confidence that belied his age. With the fastest fifty of IPL 2025 and the second-fastest IPL century ever (only behind Chris Gayle’s 30-ball madness), Indian cricket seems to have unearthed another gem for the future.
