However, his prospects may have taken a hit due to his underwhelming performance in the ongoing T20I series against Ireland.

In the first match of the series, Tilak Varma suffered a golden duck at Malahide, Dublin. His struggles continued in the second T20I where he managed just a 2-ball 1, attempting a pull shot that resulted in a catch by Dockrell.
