Fans on Twitter were quick to react to Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper Hardik Pandya’s recent struggles with the bat during the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 clash against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). In the 48th game of the season at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow, MI faced a precarious situation after losing key wickets early in their innings.

With MI reeling at 27/3, hopes were pinned on skipper Hardik Pandya to stabilize the innings. However, Pandya’s woes continued as he fell for a golden duck, adding to his string of poor performances with the bat in this year’s IPL. Naveen-ul-Haq, with a well-directed pitched-up delivery, induced an edge from Pandya, which was gleefully accepted by wicketkeeper KL Rahul.

Pandya’s dismissal left MI in further trouble at 27/4, exacerbating their batting woes. Despite a promising performance in the previous game, where he scored 45 runs, Pandya failed to deliver yet again, tallying only 197 runs in 10 innings at an average of 21.88 for the IPL 2024 season.

This marks Hardik Pandya’s third golden duck in the IPL, underscoring his struggle for form in the tournament. As MI’s captain, his contribution with both bat and leadership is pivotal for the team’s success. Fans took to Twitter to express their disappointment and frustration with Pandya’s underwhelming performances, demanding a better showing from the star all-rounder.

As the IPL 2024 season progresses, MI will rely on Pandya to deliver his best to enhance their chances of victory.
