Yograj Singh has yet again managed to be in the headlines and this time for commenting on coaching Sachin Tendulkar’s son Arjun Tendulkar. Recently, in an interview given to Zee Switch, Yograj spoke his mind about Arjun’s progress in his peculiar style. Yograj’s words have now become controversy, more so as he blamed former India captains Kapil Dev and MS Dhoni for some harsh critique.
Drawing a comparison between Arjun and a diamond in a coal mine, Yograj said, “Have you ever seen a diamond in a coal mine? It is nothing but coal, which takes years to nurture and shape. If the diamond lands in the right hands, it will shine eventually. If it’s in the wrong hands, it breaks into pieces.”

The reactions have started on social media. Several users are advising Arjun to look elsewhere for coaching. A few had sympathy for Arjun, underlining he’d be better off with another mentor if he’s ever going to have a fruitful, untainted career.

Arjun Tendulkar is now hard at work to find his place in the domestic cricket circuit as part of the Goa team and even the Mumbai Indians in the IPL. However, he has been afforded some chance in the IPL, but he hasn’t been able to find his official place being an important player. He has played sporadic matches for the Mumbai Indians, but he wants to improve a great deal in his game.
