Nicholas Pooran put on a breathtaking display of power-hitting in the IPL 2025 showdown between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Stepping in at No. 3, Pooran wasted no time unleashing his aggressive intent, tearing apart the SRH bowling attack with effortless strokeplay.

Right from the outset, the LSG wicketkeeper-batter dictated terms, taking on the bowlers with fearless intent. His ability to find boundaries at will, particularly against spinners Abhishek Sharma and Adam Zampa, left SRH struggling to contain him. Pooran raced to the fastest half-century of the season, reaching the milestone in just 18 balls, propelling LSG past the 100-run mark in quick time.

Earlier, LSG’s bowling attack, despite missing key players, put up a spirited performance against SRH’s formidable batting lineup. Shardul Thakur set the tone early, removing Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan in a single over. Travis Head and Nitish Kumar Reddy attempted to rebuild, but debutant Prince Yadav dismissed Head for his maiden IPL wicket.

Heinrich Klaasen looked threatening, but an unfortunate deflection off Yadav led to his bizarre run-out. From there, Shardul, Bishnoi, Rathi, and Avesh tightened the screws, ensuring SRH couldn’t fully capitalize. With a strong start from Pooran, LSG now has the perfect platform to chase down the target. Can they seal the win? The chase promises to be just as thrilling!
