However, after a drawn Test at first, Team India scripted history at Lord’s with a 151-run win. But, England bounced back in the third Test at Headingley in Leeds where they won by an innings and 76 runs and levelled the series 1-1 as well. And, following that, many predicted that England would go on to win the fourth Test as well.

And, they started well too as England seamers restricted Team India to 191 runs in the first innings of the fourth Test at The Oval. Then the hosts posted 290 runs with a lead of 99 runs. However, Team India had other plans in the second innings. Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul stitched an 83-run partnership before Rohit and Cheteshwar Pujara added a 153-run stand as well.

Then Shardul Thakur and Rishabh Pant also scored 60 and 50 respectively. On the other hand, England duo Rory Burns and Haseeb Hameed stitched 77 runs for the opening wicket on Day 4 at The Kennington Oval in London which made many believe that England might have a chance to win as well.

And, before Day 5, Nick Compton took to his official Twitter handle and tweeted against Virat Kohli’s fans. He tweeted: “Where have all my Indian Kohli loving fans gone?” But, England failed to win as they were bowled out for 210 in the second innings. And, India won the game by 157 runs and took a 2-1 lead in the five-match Test series.
