Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have received a significant boost ahead of IPL 2025, with all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy passing the Yo-Yo Test and set to rejoin the squad. According to a report from the Times of India, Reddy cleared the fitness test with a commendable score of 18.1 at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. His availability is a major relief for SRH, as he is now fit to feature in their opening clash against Rajasthan Royals on March 23 in Hyderabad.

Reddy’s fitness had been a point of concern following an injury he sustained after the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. The setback ruled him out of the T20I series against England, leading to his rehabilitation stint at the BCCI’s facility in Bengaluru. With speculation rife about his participation in IPL 2025, this news confirms that the promising all-rounder is back in action just in time for the season.

The 21-year-old has rapidly emerged as one of India’s brightest young talents, and his presence strengthens SRH’s lineup considerably. A key retention for the franchise, Reddy was a standout performer in IPL 2024, amassing 303 runs in 11 innings at an average of 33.66 and a strike rate of 142.92. His contributions with the ball further enhanced his value, playing a crucial role in SRH’s journey to the final.

Reddy was last seen in action during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, where he made a significant impact in Australia. He was among India’s most composed batters in the series, highlighted by a stunning century at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground. His ability to deliver in pressure situations has only heightened expectations for his IPL 2025 campaign.

SRH will open their IPL 2025 campaign at home at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, eager to start strong and take the final step toward securing their second IPL trophy.
