Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) managed to 200-5 after being asked to bat first by Mumbai Indians (MI). MI skipper Rohit Sharma pulled back things in the slog overs as the hosts conceded just 43 runs and managed to scalp 4 wickets. Rohit Sharma‘s decision to give 2 overs to Akash Madhwal in the death overs proved to be decisive. Akash Madhwal took 4 wickets and gave away 37 runs in his 4-over spell.

SRH tried yet another new opening combination in the form of Vivrant Sharma and Mayank Agrawal which did wonders for the team. The duo dictated the terms and were involved in a massive opening partnership of 140 runs in 13.5 overs. Surprisingly, Rohit Sharma didn’t give another over to the flamboyant all-rounder, Cameron Green who had conceded only 2 runs in his first over.

The likes of Glenn Phillips and Harry Brook failed to do much for the team. While chasing the target of 201 runs, the MI openers came out all guns blazing as they scored 60 runs in the first 6 overs for the loss of 1 wicket. Rohit Sharma was looking ominous and was making good use of the crease and was striking the ball cleanly.

At the end of 13 overs, MI’s score was 148-1. Mayank Dagar, the left-arm off-spinner, was bowling the over, and on the first delivery, Rohit Sharma tried to play a lofted shot towards cover but couldn’t connect it properly and the catch was taken at backward point by Nitish Reddy.

The hosts eventually won the game with a couple of overs to spare with Camero Green scoring a century. Now, MI will be hoping that Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) suffer a loss against Gujarat Titans (GT), so that MI can qualify to the playoffs.
