Nitish Kumar Reddy was visibly furious with himself after his dismissal in Sunrisers Hyderabad’s clash against Lucknow Super Giants at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. The young all-rounder had the responsibility of anchoring the innings after SRH lost early wickets but couldn’t capitalize on his start.

Coming in after Ishan Kishan’s departure in the third over, Nitish Kumar Reddy looked steady alongside Travis Head, stitching together a crucial 61-run partnership. However, Head’s dismissal for 47 halted SRH’s recovery. Another brief stand with Heinrich Klaasen (26) followed before Klaasen was run out in bizarre fashion. With the top order back in the pavilion, the pressure was on Reddy to carry the innings deep.

Unfortunately, his stay ended in the 15th over when Ravi Bishnoi cleaned him up with a well-disguised length delivery. Attempting an ambitious lofted shot, Reddy completely missed the ball, which crashed into his stumps. Frustrated with his soft dismissal, he was seen angrily throwing his helmet as he made his way back to the dressing room.

SRH, despite losing wickets at regular intervals, managed to post a fighting total of 190/9 in 20 overs. Aniket Verma’s explosive 13-ball 36, featuring five towering sixes, gave the innings a late boost. On the bowling front, Shardul Thakur was the standout performer for LSG, picking up 4 for 34. With 191 to chase, LSG will be eyeing their first win of the tournament.
