As MI completed a win over the strong-looking Capitals side, a “thank you” tweet from former RCB skipper Kohli to Rohit Sharma resurfaced on Twitter. For context, Virat Kohli had replied to his national teammate wishing him on his birthday back in 2019 on Twitter.

Nevertheless, the former RCB skipper did write on Twitter as MI kept RCB alive in the competition.

Talking about the match between MI and DC, Rohit won the toss and decided to bowl first. The MI bowlers drew first blood pretty soon some success early on as they dismissed the Australian duo of David Warner and Mitchell Marsh within the first four overs.

Things went bad to worse for the Capitals as they also lost their other opener, Prithvi Shaw in the powerplay itself. However, a decent partnership between skipper Rishabh Pant and Rovman Powell ensured that DC did not bog down under pressure.

Some late blitz by all-rounder Axar Patel ensured that they reached to a competitive total of 159 in their allotted 20 overs. Chasing 160 to win, Rohit’s bad campaign ended as he managed to score just two runs and used up 13 deliveries. However, his partner Ishan Kishan kept on scoring at a brisk pace as he scored a vital 48 in just 35 balls.
