Exactly three years ago, Rohit Sharma scored his fifth ODI hundred, second double hundred, and most important of them all, overtook Virender Sehwag’s record of most runs in an ODI innings as he made his way to a world-record 264 (173), including 33 fours and nine sixes.

Having scored a double hundred in ODIs against Australia at Bengaluru in 2013, Sharma also became the first cricketer to score two double hundreds in ODIs.

Having won the first three matches of the five-match series, India had already put its hand around the trophy.

In the fourth ODI at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, Virat Kohli had won the toss and chose to bat. Coming back from an injury, Sharma was included in the playing eleven in this match in the place of Shikhar Dhawan. He grabbed his chance with both his hands and achieved this feat. Watch the full video:
