During the second Test of Pakistan’s tour of Australia in 2009 at Sydney, Pakistan collapsed under pressure so much so that they failed to chase 176 in the fourth innings. Having won the first Test at Melbourne by 170 runs, Ricky Ponting, the then Australian captain, had won the toss and elected to bat.

Mohammad Asif’s mind-blowing bowling figures of 20-6-41-6 dismantled Australia on 127-10 in 44.2 overs. On the back of half-centuries from Imran Farhat (53) and Salman Butt (71), Pakistan gained a vital first innings lead of 206 runs.

Australia came back strongly in their second innings as Michael Hussey scored his 11th Test century, 134* (284), with the help of 16 fours. Danish Kaneria picked up a five-wicket haul as Australia ended up scoring 381-10 in 125.4 overs.

Chasing 176 runs to win, Pakistan were all out on 139 in 38 overs. Umar Akmal had top-scored with 49 (81) with the help of six fours. Nathan Hauritz (12-1-53-5) was the pick of the Australian bowler in the last innings of the Test.
