The veteran Indian wicket-keeper, Parthiv Patel is finding it hard to make it to the playing XI of the Indian as a wicket-keeper at least, thanks to the arrival of young talent in Rishabh Pant. But the baby-faced cricketer has often been seen making the headlines in cricketing circles. He was also in Australia recently as a member of the Test series squad that made history and the only cricketer from the 2003-04 Australian tour – the last time the Indian team had returned unbeaten from Down Under in a Test series.

Parthiv was back from Australia to lead his team Gujarat against Kerala in the Ranji quarter-finals but had a disappointing result as Gujarat lost by 113 runs and he himself falling for a golden duck. However, the cricketer did make everybody smile by coming up with a humorous post on his Instagram account showing how much he has changed in the last 10 years.

Celebrities are currently busy with a ‘10-year challenge’ which is about sharing pictures of oneself – from 2009 and contrasting it with one from 2019. Parthiv took the opportunity to post a picture two photographs – both same – while comparing 2009 and 2019. The southpaw’s message was clear: he hasn’t changed a bit and that left the social media users in splits.

However, this is not the first time, who has played 25 Tests, 38 ODIs and two T20Is for India and has been seen carrying out the role of the opener against tough bowling attacks many a time, has made fun of himself. The diminutive cricketer had once shared a picture of himself with a dosa which looked taller than him on Twitter and that was another moment for the Twitterati to go crazy. He tweeted, “Even the dosa is taller thn me…😝😁”.

Parthiv last played for India in Test in South Africa in early 2018 though his wicket-keeping skills weren’t enough to retain him and he wasn’t picked for the England series in the middle of last year. However, the player’s top moment came in Ranji Trophy 2016-17 when he led Gujarat to win their maiden title with the skipper himself scoring 90 and 143 in both innings to win the man of the match award in the final against Mumbai.
