The Hyderabad-based team secured their spot in the final by triumphing over Rajasthan Royals in the Qualifier 2 at Chepauk, a win marked by exceptional performances from their key players.
After the crucial victory, Cummins praised the standout performers of the match – Shahbaz Ahmed and Abhishek Sharma – for their stellar bowling efforts that helped defend a target of 175. In a video shared by SRH on social media, Cummins expressed his admiration for the team’s performance.
“Wonderful game tonight. We got 170-odd with the bat, though we probably would have liked a few more runs. Then we went out to bowl, had a decent powerplay, and the spin twins Abhishek and Shahbaz were amazing, taking key wickets through the middle overs and restricting them to 139 for 7,” said Pat Cummins.

Heinrich Klaasen, who was instrumental in SRH’s batting lineup, also shared his excitement about reaching the IPL 2024 final. Klaasen was the top scorer for SRH in Qualifier 2, playing a crucial role on a challenging Chepauk pitch. While most of the middle-order struggled to score, Klaasen managed to notch up a brilliant half-century, hitting four sixes and reaching fifty in just 34 deliveries.

Post-match, Heinrich Klaasen expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming final, acknowledging the tough conditions and the team’s resilience.
“Hi guys, we are into the final! The team played incredibly well. It was not the easiest game as the wicket was tough initially. We had to rebuild and set a competitive score. Our two left-arm spinners, Shahbaz and Abhishek, really pulled it back for us. Shahbaz bowled incredibly well, and Abhi took the big wicket of Sanju,” Heinc Klaasen said, before turning the camera toward his jubilant teammates celebrating the victory.

Abhishek Sharma, who has garnered attention for his explosive batting, showcased his bowling prowess against Rajasthan Royals. The left-arm spinner took two crucial wickets while conceding only 24 runs. Shahbaz Ahmed, however, was the star bowler of the match, claiming three wickets and giving away just 23 runs.
