According to the latest report, the star Australian fast bowlers, Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc will not be taking part in the missing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season. Cummins struggled for wickets with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) with just seven wickets from five matches during the 2022 edition of the tournament. Starc was part of KKR’s squad during the 2018 season but missed the entire tournament due to an injury.
IPL franchises are required to submit the list of retained cricketers before Tuesday (November 15) and a few teams have already started doing business ahead of the upcoming mini-auction scheduled on December 23 in Kochi. KKR, two-time IPL champions, finished the 2022 season in seventh place in the league table with just six victories from 14 group-stage matches.

The Kolkata-based franchise has already started preparing for the 2023 season with some big changes to its squad. They traded in Lockie Ferguson and Rahmanullah Gurbaz from the defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT) and also signed star Indian bowling all-rounder Shardul Thakur from Delhi Capitals (DC).
KKR have now spent INR 10.75 crore on signing these three big cricketers and fans are wondering how they will do business in the mini-auction as the team definitely needs reinforcements after their poor performances in the IPL 2022 season.
But now, according to the Revsportz, Pat Cummins will be expected to miss the IPL 2023 season to focus on the Ashes 2023. Australia’s Test captain cost KRR INR 7.25 crore in the IPL 2022 mega-auction and now, their purse for the mini-auction will be boosted.

However, the star English spinner Adil Rashid, who took four wickets in the T20 World Cup 2022, is set to feature in the IPL 2023 season and will be available for the mini-auction.
