Pat Cummins, the Test team captain of Australia, spoke on the changing nature of Test cricket, mostly about the aggressive batting that has lately taken center stage. Speaking to Star Sports, Cummins shares his views of how modern-day players are taking the game forward to the bowlers. “Every team has one or two players who can take the game on.”.

“You know guys like Rishabh Pant, they’re going to be aggressive.”. If Pant misses his line or length, they’ll take him. He might play a reverse lap shot, and it’s superbly unbelievable. “It is just who he is,” said pat Cummins, referring to the impact that the Indian wicketkeeper-batter has for the game.

The Australian skipper attributed Pant’s influence in bringing about this change to aggressive batting. “We’ve gotten used to seeing more of these outrageous shots. He’s had a big influence in a few series and we’ll need to figure out how to keep him quiet,” Pat Cummins added, hinting at the challenge the opposition teams have to face.

Rishabh Pant was back at Test cricket after 637 days, and the show was nothing less than spectacular. In the second innings in Chennai against Bangladesh, the 26-year-old marked a comeback through a thriller of a century. The aggression in his bat and the energetic presence behind the stumps would be a boon as India prepares to meet Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
Before that India will finish their two-match series against Bangladesh, followed by a three-match Test series against New Zealand.
