With 5 wins in the ten games they have played so far, KKR is still in contention to reach the playoffs. They are currently standing at fourth place on the points table. Earlier this month, their spin spearhead Sunil Narine was reported for suspect bowling action before his name was removed from the warning list. Dinesh Karthik then stepped down as captain and the captaincy was it to Eoin Morgan.
Morgan’s captaincy stint has started on a mixed note. While he led the side to a thrilling win over Sunrisers Hyderabad, KKR suffered two back-to-back losses against Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore under his captaincy. With just four league matches left now, Morgan will be desperately hoping that KKR shows some consistency.
