The footage of this casual match quickly went viral, garnering widespread admiration for the star cricketer’s gesture. During his visit, Cummins was met with the enthusiastic energy of the schoolchildren, all dressed in their neat uniforms. With a cricket bat in hand, the world-class athlete faced deliveries bowled by the eager students, creating a memorable experience for everyone involved.

This spontaneous game highlighted Cummins’ down-to-earth nature and his ability to connect with fans beyond the cricket field. Regarding SRH’s performance, the team has had an impressive IPL 2024 season, securing one of the four coveted playoff spots under Cummins’ leadership.

With 15 points from 13 matches, including seven wins and five losses, the 2016 champions have shown remarkable form. Cummins himself has played a crucial role in their success, taking 14 wickets in 12 matches.

In their recent match against Gujarat Titans (GT), rain played spoilsport, leading to the game being washed out and both teams receiving one point each. This result was enough for SRH to secure a place in the playoffs with 15 points. Their next challenge is against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in their final league match on Sunday.

Currently third in the standings, SRH is aiming to climb higher and secure one of the top two spots. The Rajasthan Royals, who hold the second position, have one game left. If the Royals lose their last league match and SRH triumphs over Punjab, SRH will move up and face the Kolkata Knight Riders in Qualifier 1 on May 21. This would enhance their chances of progressing further in the tournament, showcasing their strong comeback under Cummins’ leadership.
