The Pakistan cricket team chief-selector Inzamam-ul-Haq recently has been accused of nepotism by the former Pakistan leg-spinner Abdul Qadir. However, the newly elected Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Ehsan Mani has claimed that they have full support to Inzamam as they don’t believe that Inzamam has done any wrong work.
Recently, the former national cricket team chief selector Qadir has claimed that Inzamam called Basit Ali, the chief selector of the Pakistan Under-19 side, to include his son in the junior team.
Later, the former Pakistan captain and the present chief selector of the national team, Inzamam-ul-Haq, posted a video on his official Twitter account where he denied the entire accusation and added that he would quit the post if he found guilty. He also demanded equal punishment if anyone has done this purposefully.
On that post, Inzamam wrote, “I strongly refute this unfounded and malicious claim. For the record, no one from junior selection committee was approached and there is no truth in this. I am taking this matter quite seriously and will be meeting PCB chair for an open enquiry on this matter tomorrow.”

Later, he met with the PCB chief Ehsan Mani. After that meeting, PCB chief claimed that they have the total faith on both the senior and junior selectors’ chiefs.
According to the PCB press release on last Thursday (September 13), “Mani has expressed his disappointment over the speculation about the integrity of two former Test cricketers and current head of senior and junior selection committee, respectively.”
Meanwhile, the junior chief selector Basit Ali has also denied that accusation. He also wished to PCB to take the legal action for spreading such rumours.
Ali said, “I would like to request the PCB to take legal action against those who are spreading such rumours.”
On the other hand, the former Pakistan batsman Mohammad Yousuf has also supported Inzamam by quoting, “it would prove Inzamam is right in his statement.”
