Pakistan’s struggles in the Asia Cup and their subsequent disappointing performance in the ODI World Cup 2023 have raised concerns among fans and experts. To make matters worse, a leaked WhatsApp chat involving Pakistan’s captain, Babar Azam, has added more fuel to the fire. This incident highlights the turmoil within the team.
Former Pakistan wicketkeeper, Rashid Latif, recently revealed that Babar had attempted to contact Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Zaka Ashraf, but his efforts went unanswered.

“In the Pakistani media, many things are happening. Perhaps they are false news. I will provide you with the true news, which was kept on hold. Babar Azam has been trying to contact the chairman for the past two days, but they are not responding. He is messaging Salman Naseer (Chief Operating Officer), and he is messaging Usman Walha (Director of International Cricket),” Rashid Latif stated in an interview.
They leaked Babar Azam’s private WhatsApp chats?

In response to these claims, Ashraf not only denied them but also went to the extent of leaking what is allegedly Babar’s WhatsApp chat with Pakistan’s Chief Operating Officer, Salman Naseer. Ashraf emphasized that the chief operating officer or the director of international cricket should be in contact with the team captain.
Pakistan’s ODI World Cup 2023 campaign started with two consecutive victories, raising hopes among fans. However, they have since suffered four consecutive defeats, diminishing their chances of reaching the semi-finals.
