The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has barred legendary batsman and Chief Selector Inzamam-ul-Haq from investing in the much awaited T10 cricket league in Sharjah. Inzamam clarified that neither he has any ties with any of the franchise of the league nor does he have ownership of any of the franchises. But he said that his brother Intizar-ul-Haq holds shares in a T10 franchise.
However, PCB stated that Inzamam can work as a mentor with any of the franchise. PCB chairman Najam Sethi has said that Inzamam is a selector for the Pakistan cricket board and therefore he cannot be barred from chalking out tasks other than that of PCB. Sethi also said the ICC has neither approved nor rejected T10 league.
Inzamam had earlier expressed his joy on being a part of the first of its kind initiative. He said, “I am very happy to be part of this league and see this very innovative concept that my friend Shaji Ul Mulk is introducing take off well. The PCB’s approval means Pakistan stars such as Shahid Afridi, Sarfraz Ahmed, Shoaib Malik, Mohammed Amir, Babar Azam, Ahmed Shehzad and Fakhar Zaman, amongst top Pakistani centrally contracted players will feature in the upcoming T10 Cricket League player draft in November.”
