While the Pakistan opening batsman Ahmed Shehzad has a less than one month left to complete his four-month ban that has been imposed by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), he enters in the new controversy for which the PCB has issued a show cause notice to the international cricketer.
Recently, the PCB has suspended the 26-year-old Ahmed Shehzad for four months from the international and domestic cricket – for consumption of a prohibited substance that was found in his Sample, which was collected during the Pakistan Cup 2018. Before that decision, Shehzad was provisionally suspended from July 10, 2018, as he was charged with two anti-doping violations of the PCB Anti-Doping Rules 2016.
Later, Shehzad admitted to committing those violations but had no intention to cheat or enhance his performance.
While the ban is effective from July 10, 2018, Shehzad can return to the cricket from November 11, 2018. But, recently the batsman revealed through his social media posts that he has played seven matches for Muslim Gymkhana Club within the span of 12 days.
Today was my 7th game within the span of 12 days for my club #MuslimGymkhana – it has been a really great experience seeing such youth as passionate as ever after 10 years … am really enjoying my time with them and learning a lot from the future #superstars of my nation pic.twitter.com/dXvA5mfOfP

But according to the rules, during the suspension period, Shehzad can’t play any matches organised by the PCB. Now, the national cricket board has issued a show cause notice to Shehzad “to explain why proceedings should not be initiated against him” for the violation and he has to submit his response until October 25.
Last time, Shehzad played for the national team during Pakistan tour of Scotland for the two-match T20I series in this June. In fact, Shehzad has played only four T20Is for Pakistan cricket team in this calendar year (2018). Last time he played the Test and ODI in 2017.
The 26-year-old right-handed opening batsman has played 13 Tests, 81 ODIs and 57 T20Is for Pakistan where he has scored 982 runs (average 40.91), 2,605 runs (average 32.56) and 1,454 runs (average 26.43) respectively.
