Former India player Ajinkya Rahane feels that Team India star Abhishek Sharma has accepted that he will have to deal with outside noise throughout his career as well. He added that some fans will be quick to criticise as soon as he fails to deliver.
His comments came after Abhishek’s record-breaking 30-ball hundred in the recently concluded third T20I against Afghanistan. He smashed 108 runs off 34 balls, smashing the fastest T20I ton by a Full Member batter in the process as well.

Speaking on his YouTube channel after India’s 3-0 series sweep over Afghanistan, Rahane said: “This will happen in the sport. People will talk if you do well or don’t do well. Abhishek is a mature player and batter who knows that the outside noise will continue forever. As much as I know Abhishek, I don’t think he would be looking to prove anything to anyone. I think he probably wanted to prove to himself how he can get better. He is a very bindas character off the field. I think the same character comes on the field too.”

However, Abhishek Sharma delivered a pep talk in his mother tongue, Punjabi, during the third T20I as well. Ajinkya Rahane said that he speaks freely, without worrying about judgment. Suggesting that Abhishek Sharma speaks whatever is in his heart as well.

“He likes to live freely. There are a few characters who don’t know what to say in the huddle. Every player has a different character. But Abhishek doesn’t think too much about what others would feel. He speaks whatever is in his heart,” he concluded.
