In Match 24 of IPL 2025, Royal Challengers Bengaluru got off to a blistering start against Delhi Capitals, with Phil Salt and Virat Kohli opening the innings in style. All eyes were on Kohli, who is on the cusp of a historic milestone—just one half-century away from becoming the first Indian to register 100 fifties in T20 cricket. Delhi skipper Axar Patel won the toss and decided to bowl first, setting up an exciting contest at the top.

The early overs completely belonged to RCB. In just the third over, Phil Salt went berserk against Mitchell Starc, smashing three boundaries and two sixes. Kohli joined the onslaught with a crisp boundary, and the over yielded a staggering 30 runs. This propelled RCB to the 50-run mark in just three overs—the fastest in this IPL season so far.
