The first-ever Day/Night Test between India and Bangladesh in Kolkata may have got a great response but Bangladesh coach Russell Domingo on Friday said the pink ball test can never replace the red ball experience. Bangladesh were bundled out for 106 within three hours where India put up 174 for three on the first day.
“Yeah, it’s terrible today. We should never play the game. Look, I suppose on the odd occasion, there’s nothing wrong with it. I don’t think it’s going to be the norm. I think the 10 o’clock start in the morning still gets everybody excited and nervous,” Russell Domingo said.
Earlier, even Indian captain Virat Kohli also had felt the same.
“1 o’clock in the afternoon doesn’t quite feel the same. It’s already passed my bedtime. Normally I’m in bed at this time. So it’s different. And it’s something that you can do on the odd occasion. The excitement is there. It’s fantastic but only occasionally,” added Kohli.

India’s pace trio of Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav bagged all the 10 wickets. Although India openers Mayank Agarwal and Rohit Sharma failed to provide a good start, Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli hit half-centuries and steadied the ship.
“At the end of the day, we really got to understand that we are playing against a really good Indian side. Their the bowling attack is probably the leading bowling attack in the world. It’s easy to point fingers at technical frailties. But we’re play against a really good bowling attack. They are top of the game at the moment. We are long way behind in Test cricket. Look at Virat Kohli he has 26 hundreds and all our batsmen together we have got 17. It’s something we need to address going forward,” he concluded.
