Chawla, who tied the knot with Anubhuti Chauhan on November 29, 2013, in a grand ceremony in Moradabad, was blessed with a son Advik on March 24, 2017. Advik’s love for cricket is not hidden from anyone for a long time. A few months back during the Indian Premier League (IPL) season, he was spotted playing cricket with Hardik Pandya at an airport which Mumbai Indians captured and shared on their social media handle where the young enthusiast was seen practising catches with the star all-rounder.

In the video shared on Piyush’s official Instagram account, Advik comes up with a very confident display of his skills while bowling both leg-spin and off-spin with great control. The video has garnered a lot of sweet comments from fans who enjoyed watching the father-son duo bond over their love for cricket.

“Weekend morning starts like this for us at home #cricketlovers #legspin #duo #spin #bowling,” read the caption of the video posted by Chawla, 35, as he expressed the joy of their weekend ritual.

Piyush Chawla had a decent stint in the IPL 2024 season with the Mumbai Indians. Unlike the previous season, when he played all games, Chawla featured in 11 this year, taking 13 wickets at an average of 24 and strike rate of 16.15, finishing with an economy rate just under nine.

With years of experience over other leg-spinners in Indian cricket, Chawla has continued to turn up on the field besides trying his hand at commentary. Though he has done a bit of commentary, he has not announced his retirement from cricket. The 35-year-old turning 36 in December veteran spinner has been one of the consistent performers in the IPL starting with its first edition and has won the title twice.
