After a humdinger of a game in Vizag, the focus now shifts to the third ODI of the five-match series between India and Windies. The tied match could have gone either way. For the last three ODIs, the Indian pace attack has got a boost by the comeback of both Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah. Team India reached Pune on Thursday after a long wait at the Vishakapatnam airport.
Team India was halted outside the Vishakapatnam airport. YSR Congress Party President YS Jaganmohan Reddy was injured when a canteen staff attacked him with a blade at the VIP Lounge. Although the politician managed to dodge the attack, he injured his arm. As a result, the security got really tightened. People have restricted entry to the airport for some time.

This incident happened around the same time when the Indian team bus reached the airport. Hence, the players had to wait for sometime before they were allowed to enter the premises. On the other hand, after receiving treatment for his injuries, Jaganmohan was flown to Hyderabad in a flight which took off at 1:10 pm.
While the Test series was more of a one-sided battle, the ODI series has generated a lot of interest for the fans. The first game saw Windies piling up 300 runs and India chasing it comfortably. Then in Vizag, the youngster Shimron Hetmyer and Shai Hope almost cruised Windies towards a target of 322 runs. The Pune track is also expected to be good for batting though it might support spin.
The Indian selectors announced the squad for the last three ODIs on Thursday and they have dropped Mohammed Shami though they chose to resist with Umesh Yadav. India continued to retain the left arm pacer, Khaleel Ahmed, as well. The return of the two pace horses is expected to boost India’s bowling lineup. In the past couple of games, the opposition has managed to concede 300 runs consecutively.
